Shelf Awareness says that "readers will be hard-pressed to know whether this book belongs in the kitchen for the recipes or on the coffee table for the illustrations and poems. Charming to read in either spot."
Kate Lebo's writing has appeared in Best New Poets, Gastronomica, and Poetry Northwest among other journals, and she’s currently at work on a cookbook, "Pie School: Lessons in Fruit, Flour and Butter." Kate has judged the Iowa State Fair Pie Contest, baked at the American Gothic House, and won Best in Show at the first annual Cake vs. Pie Competition. A devotee of book art, she’s an editor for the handmade literary journal Filter and has a long history of zine-making. Her most recent zine is The Pie Lady’s Manifesto. She lives in Oregon.
"Her language, like her stage presence, is simultaneously accessible and elevated, lush, dense and funny, filled with knowing winks and the sparkle of shared experience." -- CityArts Magazine
