It used to be fabulous!

We have been going to Omaha for over 25 years and the Max was always the place to go. Now, sadly to say, it has really gone downhill. Way too many of the staff has horrible attitudes. Bartenders are not friendly. It is huge and has plenty of different places and rooms to go for different types of music. But it certainly is not what it used to be, sadly to say.

Well its a great club, other then the staff. lets just say if someone doesnt like you, and starts crap with you, you will get kicked out. even if you dont do anything, and the bouncers are all str8 and homofobic. one of me female friends who looks like a boy got beat up in the bathroom by some lesbians because they thought she was a boy. and she got kicked out, while those lesbians were aloud to stay. not a safe environment. plus there alot of str8 poeple who go there, and start crap with all the gay people, it shouldnt even be called a gay bar.

What a disappointment!!!

I must admit, once you enter The Max u r in for a pleasant surprise in terms of appearance. The outside is very bland and plain like the rest of the city but the inside has an interesting decor. It is definitely roomy. Besides this the place has NO appeal. I am in grad school here in Omaha and believe me, after 2 years of living here I can still count the times on my hands that I've been to The Max...That is VERY sad considering that this is the only decent sized dance club in town....After one visit, believe me, u won't be inspired to return...Like I said...very bland and plain like the rest of Omaha...in terms of food...like a plain piece of white bread without any butter or jelly..not even toasted...nothing to make it appealling.

The Max

Great bar! Two dance rooms, a lounge and a patio bar. The music sometimes sucks, but then you can just get up and move to another area to hear something different. It does have moments of high school clique-ness, but still it's a fun place to go.

Seen it's day.....

OH...the max. Or best known as the Maxie Pad, since all the guys have major attitude...sorta like a woman experiencing PMS. HOWEVER, very..very clean bar...big space, several dance rooms, with a wonderfull outdoor patio for the smokers. We Omahan's use to hit this place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night....it was the PLACE! But, the old 80's dance tunes are worn everyone out...go if you like the Gay Anthem songs, or the Cher 2hr remix.
